Service trip complete!

With $2,556 from our donors and support from Patterson Veterinary and the Banfield Foundation we accomplished a lot.

41 dogs & cats

We spayed or neutered over forty dogs and cats! We also provided treatment for tick-borne diseases like anaplasmosis and ehrlichiosis and performed routine health exams for many puppies and kittens.

$1000 in supplies

With donations received we provided Jasper’s with surgical instruments, medical supplies, and medications (antibiotics, anesthetic agents, and analgesics).

~$20,000 in health & surgical services

With the support of our donors we provided care to many dogs and cats, refined anesthetic protocols and surgical techniques with Omar (Jasper’s staff veterinarian), and collaborated on future projects to continue to provide Utila’s dogs and cats the care they need.

New anesthesia machine parts

We brought new parts that needed replacement and took back another damaged part for repair in the US. We’ll get that machine up and running soon!

Our team with Jasper’s staff and volunteers after a long week of surgery and check-ups at their amazing clinic on the island of Utila Honduras.

With a newly built animal clinic and tons of local support, Jasper's Utila Animal Shelter has been providing its lovely island inhabitants with the veterinary care they so fittingly deserve, and the Animal Awareness team is going to help.

Jasper's Utila Animal Shelter is the first and only volunteer run community animal protection, rescue, and healthcare organization on the island of Utila, Honduras!

Jasper’s has become the leading force in animal care on the island of Utila.

They provide animals with shelter, food, medical care, and new families. They also educate the public and promote a sense of appreciation and respect for all animal life on the island. They have one permanent veterinarian on staff and host both local and international veterinarians and veterinary organizations.

How will the Animal Awareness team help?

our first goal

We will provide health check-ups, vaccines, medications, and preventative care. Think of the high-quality care your pet receives when you take them to the vet. We will also provide spay and neuter services for owned pets and pets looking for a forever home.

our second goal

Heartworm and tick-borne disease is easily treated and prevented in the U.S. with readily available medications. Because Utila does not have access to these medications, these diseases are quite prevalent. With public educational programs and preventative veterinary care we aim to increase awareness of these diseases, treat sick pets, and decrease disease prevalence on the island.
